A multi award-winning mastering engineer and active Producers & Engineers Wing member, Mandy Parnell has been obsessed by music for as long as she can remember. Mandy runs her own mastering facility, Black Saloon Studios, in Walthamstow, East London, where her philosophy is to “enhance great mixes, rather than fix them”. Possessing a keen emotional memory for albums she grew up with, Mandy was all too aware of distortion and timing issues introduced by analogue to digital conversion. She first listened to MQA after working with Björk on her technologically ground-breaking ‘Biophilia’ project and feels that having MQA as a one file format is invaluable to the integrity of an artist, allowing them to put their seal of approval on what exactly will be listened to.
