Sound quality has been a driving motivation for Hawaii-based singer songwriter David Elias, since he started recording his music digitally more than 20 years ago. A self-professed hi-res recording pioneer, David's trademark acoustic sound is created from a purely ambient approach to live studio recording, using minimal miking and tracking without edits. On listening to some of his earliest recordings 'reconstructed' with MQA, David commented, "I've found that the original intention and sounds reverberating in small rooms, large performance venues and studios, are much more accurately represented and are therefore much, much more enjoyable to listen to. The convenience of MQA's smaller file size is an additional no-brainer."
