EMM Labs was established by Ed Meitner, a leading expert in digital converter design, in 1998. Initially, Ed worked closely with Sony and Phillips to refine what was possible from the DSD/SACD format and developed the first complete multi-channel DSD playback system.

The company and its team of talented physicists, engineers and music lovers, quickly became one of the industry's most respected makers of high-resolution audio recording and playback products. Today EMM Labs designs products for a wide variety of applications to be found in audiophile homes throughout the world.
