Roksan was founded in 1985 by Tufan Hashemi and Touraj Moghaddam, graduates of the University of London/Imperial College London and Queen Mary College. The name is derived from Roxana, daughter of the Persian King Darius, and reflects the pair’s Persian heritage. The combination of innovation, sound quality and reliability earned the company an enviable reputation for high-end music reproduction from the outset. In late 2016, Roksan was acquired by British loudspeaker manufacturers Monitor Audio. The combined operation boosts the quality, desirability and strength of products under both brands. Roksan’s first MQA-enabled product is the Attessa Streaming Amplifier.
